ITsavvy Announces vCISO Solution to Expand Cybersecurity Offering

CHICAGO—ITsavvy, one of the fastest growing complete technology solution providers in the U.S., just announced the addition of a vCISO offering to its cybersecurity portfolio. The program is headed by Katie Hanahan, ITsavvy’s Vice President, Cybersecurity Strategy.

The role of ITsavvy’s vCISOs (virtual chief information security officers) is to help organizations develop their strategy to protect their infrastructure, data, people and customers. The vCISO is a security leader that assists in developing the client organization’s cybersecurity program, working with existing management and technical teams.

“Our vCISOs serve as an augmentation to an existing IT program,” Hanahan said. “They are essentially quarterbacks for the development of a long-term cybersecurity program.”

ITsavvy’s vCISOs assist in the creation of governance, risk and compliance strategy; defining and developing a plan that culminates in a roadmap for risk management, proper security awareness and training. The vCISO also provides feedback on security operations and monitoring and provides guidance for 3rd party risk management.

Hanahan added, “Unlike individual cybersecurity consultants, ITsavvy’s vCISOs have the backing of ITsavvy’s entire cybersecurity team along with a broad portfolio of cybersecurity-related service, software and hardware solutions. This is a cost-effective answer for mid-sized businesses that want cybersecurity expertise.”

Hanahan has deep experience in the cybersecurity field. Before coming to ITsavvy, she spent eight years in the integrator space, supporting Department of Defense and federal government clients. She also worked with Forbes Global 2000 and Fortune 500 clients in the areas of network analytics, email security, identity access management, threat hunting, incident response and end point solutions. At ITsavvy, Hanahan oversees holistic end-to-end cybersecurity solutions that include the vCISO program. A clear testament to Hanahan’s expertise, she was recently recognized as a Top 25 Woman Leader in Cybersecurity of 2022 by The Software Report.
