Job Description

ITsavvy is looking for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our accounting department. The staff accountant’s responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and close processes, conducting internal audits, and maintaining accounts payable documentation. You will also be assisting leadership as needed and respond to information requests by management and for auditing purposes.

To be successful as a Staff Accountant, you should be able to accurately maintain a general ledger and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). An outstanding staff accountant should also have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Primary Accountabilities

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in the monthly review and close process.
  • Reconcile general ledger account balances and bank statements.
  • Analyze key accounts and financial trends.
  • Provide support for internal and external reviews and audits.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the accounting system and identify efficiencies.
  • Research accounting issues and topics.
  • Support team goals through various projects and ad hoc requests.
  • Improve existing processes using emerging technologies or automation.


What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent education and work experience is preferred.
  • Intermediate or expert level skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent time management habits.
  • Ability to operate independently and be a self-starter.
  • Outstanding organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
