Senior Dell NetWorker Engineer Job Responsibilities 

What You’ll Do 

  • Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Networker on complex large-scale customer infrastructure and enterprise backup solutions.   
  • Identifying and resolving customer issues in a timely and thorough manner to include appropriate communications to the end user. 
  • Develop and present assessments to demonstrate client value in the form of work done, health of equipment, supportability, suggested adjustments and outcomes achieved. 
  • Advanced understanding of tape libraries (Quantum Scalar i3, Scalar i8, HPE MSL, etc.).  
  • Advanced understanding of disk sources and targets (Data Domain, Isilon, NDMP).  
  • Strong knowledge of replicating backup copies over WAN is a plus. 


Senior Dell NetWorker Engineer Qualifications and Skills 

What You’ll Need 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or a related degree, or equivalent education and work experience is required.  
  • 4 plus years working with enterprise backup systems in a Value-Added Reseller environment preferred.   
  • Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Etc) 
  • Strong knowledge of storage, virtualization, and server technologies.  
  • Knowledge of cloud backup technologies including Microsoft ASR as well as Microsoft and AWS storage blobs.  
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix is a plus.  
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols such as IP, iSCSI, and fiber channel.  
  • Knowledge of Avamar, Veeam, CommVault, Axcient, Barracuda, and NetBackup is a plus.  
  • Demonstrated experience managing enterprise level storage solutions is a plus. 
  • SAN switching configuration experience is a plus.
