We’re seeking a Project Manager in Addison, IL who is passionate about helping clients use technology to improve and expand their organizations. Our Project Management Office (PMO) works directly with the systems engineering teams across our whole company. This role is located at our HQ in Addison, IL.

The ideal candidate has a passion in providing project management oversight for everything from small- to large-scale technology implementations. You’ll have prior experience in enforcing project timelines and budget adherence, resulting in client satisfaction, improved delivery, and project profitability.

Project Manager Job Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Work individually or as part of a team to provide project execution on client engagements.
  • Contribute to strong client relationships through proactive client support and sound expertise.
  • Utilize proven tools and techniques to execute project deliverables in a manner congruent with our client’s business objectives.
  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
  • Work with engineering project leads to understand project scope, milestones, and hardware and software equipment needs.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, scope and Statement of Work documents, and associated communications documents.
  • Identify and track project progress and issues, providing regular status updates until resolved.
  • Serve as an escalation point to team members, facilitating prompt and appropriate responses to project issues and risks.
  • Effectively and regularly communicate project expectations to internal client executives, account managers, and clients in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project teams.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential out of scope activities, and devise contingency plans.
  • Conduct project post mortem when required and create recommendations to be used on future projects.
  • Work with leadership and other team members to develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

Project Manager Qualifications and Skills

What You’ll Need

  • Obtained or pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, or related technical/business field of study.
  • 5-7 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
  • PMP certification is preferred, but not required.
  • Prior consulting and/or project management experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing client facing technology implementations.
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience with MS Excel, Project, Word, or other project management tools required.
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, service delivery, and client data center operations.
  • Certifications in IT field of study, PMI, and vendor based skills a plus.
  • Ability to travel as needed (10 – 20%).
