Job Description

ITsavvy is looking for an Accounting Operations Manager to provide overall direction and guidance to our existing accounts payable team. This will include processing payable, reviewing payables processed by team, 3 way matching with AR and PO, maintaining payables log and inbox and answering payables inquiry.

The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills and be capable of coordinating with multiple teams to ensure payables are paid within company guidelines.. The desired theme is one of steady and sustainable continuous improvement. This leader will have the ability to drive change confidently, rapidly and effectively by influencing behavior within the accounting team, the business and by cross-department partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

What You’ll Do

  • Performing day-to-day A/P and A/R processing in conjunction with the current A/P and A/R teams.
  • Assisting, guiding, and instructing support staff on non-routine policy interpretations or transaction problems which require resolutions.
  • Implementing reporting procedures and internal controls for the purpose of maintaining accurate records.
  • Maintaining various fiscal information, files, and records for providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.
  • Participating in the establishment of departmental policies.
  • Performing supervisory functions for the accounts payable department including: interviewing and recommending the hiring of accounting specialists; providing or arranging for training; evaluating team and individual performance; and recommending personnel actions to ensure adequate and competent staffing.
  • Planning work assignments, evaluating work performed, and providing direction and decisions in handling procedural and technical problems.
  • Monitoring work outcomes and provide metric data for management.
  • Reconciling a variety of accounts and reports for ensuring accuracy.
  • Researching discrepancies of financial information and/or documentation (e.g., purchase orders, vendors, invoices, etc.) to ensure accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to processing.

  • Develops staff to ensure smooth transfer of knowledge for key positions; hire, train and coach to provide for appropriate succession planning.
  • Serve as key leader over the integrity and timely completion of the monthly, quarter and annual consolidated close process and financial statementsBuild strong network of internal and external resources and advisors to ensure best practices are identified and adopted by the team and ERP system.

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance and/or economics.
  • Minimum of 5 years of directly related accounts payable supervisory experience.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment while serving the needs of multiple stakeholders and leadership.
  • Technical knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
