ITsavvy Achieves ShoreTel Mobility Certification
February 14, 2012
ADDISON, IL—ITsavvy announced that it achieved certification to sell and install the new Mobility Solution from ShoreTel. The solution allows ShoreTel customers to use their smartphone mobile device as an extension on their system. Smartphone devices with an Apple (iPhone and iPad), Android and Blackberry operating system are supported with the Roam Anywhere client.
If users need to leave the office, they can start a conversation on their desk phone and move the call to their smartphone. Calls can be switched between 3G and WiFi service and back again. In addition, when out of the office and on WiFi service, calls can be made on the office system without incurring any cellular minute charges.
In addition to the Roam Anywhere client, the Mobility product suite includes three routers depending on the size of the deployment. The largest two models support high availability.
Dennis Gorecki, ITsavvy’s director of unified communications, said, “This solution addresses the growing needs of remote workers and the demand of companies to support the concept of Bring Your Own device (BYOD).” Gorecki went on to say new hires are looking for companies that allow them to use just one communication device–their smartphone–for personal and work use.
As part of the certification process, ITsavvy also needed to show their experience in installing wireless networks. To that end, they implemented the product in house to improve the productivity of their employees and provide demonstrations to clients.
